what are our convictions

Our unwavering conviction is that the Holy Spirit leads the CSCC (Zechariah 4:6; John 6:63). However, we all must keep in step with Him (Romans 8; Galatians 5:16).

For us, the Word of God is the standard, not our emotions or opinions! We love God’s Word, we believe the Holy Spirit speaks directly to us through the Scriptures, and these are some of the things we believe God’s Word teaches us:

We must have a great commitment - inspired by the Holy Spirit - to the Great Commandment, the New Commandment, and both-sides of the Great Commission (Matthew 22:37-38; Luke 14:25-33; Mark 16:15).

There is One true God Who reveals Himself to the world as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, commonly referred to today as the doctrine of the Trinity (Matthew 28:19).

Jesus, the Son of God, is our One and only LORD and Savior, He was crucified as a sacrifice for our sins and rose from the dead on third day, according to the Scriptures (John 14:6; 1 Corinthians 15).

The Bible is the one written message of God and is inspired by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:19-21).

Salvation is by God's grace and power through our faith in the righteousness of Christ as we follow Him into His death, burial, and resurrection - baptism - by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 1:16-17; Ephesians 2:1-10; Colossians 2:11-13). Grace, faith, and baptism are one and cannot be separated.

We believe that our church family is made up of disciples who are filled with the Holy Spirit. We believe every disciple is a church builder, who builds up the church in love. Everyone is equally important and has a special ministry given to them by God and His grace (Ephesians 3:14-21; 4:16).
